Statement ring

So as you have probably figured out by now. I love jewelry. My jewelry taste goes from big and bold, to petite and classic. One of my favorite looks is the statement ring. A huge ring that sometimes I will wear in place of my engagement ring. Usually I love gems and not just diamonds when it comes to the big bold ring. As a ring girl, its a great way to have some style.

Feeling a tad annoyed, and black diamond/onyx jewelry

So we Karine just told George last night that the rehearsal for their wedding is today. So she calls this morning to tell him what time and he asks her who will be there. She tells him that he can bring me and that they are meeting at this restaurant at 6:30pm. She then calls him back to tell him that her sister only wants the bridal party there, so I cannot come.


Which is kinda insulting, but its fine too. I am just annoyed because I don't get to spend a lot of time with george. He was at work all day yesterday (when I did my homework) and during the week he is so exhausted when he gets home that we don't really spend time together. Sunday night is kinda the only night we actually spend quality time together, unless we are at his parents. Plus next weekend is the wedding so I wont be around George because of them. I really wanted him to come to Florida with me. Now they are taking away the only real day we can do a date night. Anyways, Im just a little annoyed.

School Mascot

I just discovered what my school mascot is. We are the Argonauts which is this greek mythology army that goes on this quest for a golden quest. They are also sometimes called Minyins.
I figured after being at this school for over two years, I should at least know out mascot.

I filled out this survey because im taking a break and watching a horror movie. I got really scared before the scary part even happened. (I am watching dark house btw) and so I took this survey to de scare myself. Yeah I am weird. I was actually in class this week and we did this ice breaker where we come up with a question and ask three people the question. I couldn't think of anything, so I asked them what they thought of horror movies. All the people I asked did not like them. the first girl said she didn't like them because they dont promote good morals and are gory. they also don't have a point. the second person said they are stupid except for asian ones, and the last person said that he didnt like them because he got scared as a kid and liked to look at the positive side of life.
Unlike these people I am totally addicted to horror flicks. I dont even watch many good ones, most of the time they are a let down. I actually don't disagree with these people either, I agree they dont promote good morals and certainly are gory. I have to say that my favorite horror flicks are not really focused on gore. My favorite ones are the ones I watched as a little girl but cannot remember the name of. It is so annoying. I keep watching these horror movies, hoping that one of them will be as good, and so far no go. It might have to do with the fact that I am not a little girl anymore. I do still get scared which is why I am typing this now.

Anyways to change the subject, I have to comment on this jewelry trend thats been around for a while now. The station necklace.

I love the double long short station necklace look. I also like the single regular necklace length station look. I saw these cube ones and absolutely love them.

Aristotle Paper

Ugh I am so stuck. I am trying to write my second paper on Aristotle and do not know what to write. I have to give an example in my own life. Maybe I'll do one that is virtuous and one that is viceful.

argh maybe I should call my parents for examples. I can only think of vice ones. I am definitely no saint. At least not an aristotle virtue.

Basically aristotle sees two types of virtues, intellectual ones and moral ones. Intellectual ones can be linked with vices while moral ones cannot. For example you can have a courageous thief.

There are two types of ethics too, action based and virtue. Action based decides who is more virtuous based on their struggle and what they end up doing in the end, while virtue ethics believes you must not simply do what is right, but feel the right things too.
For example, Jack and Jill both are given the opportunity to get a million dollars if they rob a store. Jack immediately rejects the thought because his character is virtous. Jill struggles with the thought and debates the idea and finally with much struggle, decides not to rob the store. They both did the correct action but Jills character is more flawed with vice.

According to action based ethics, Jill is more virtuous because she had to struggle and overcame that struggle to do what is right.
Virtue ethics would say that Jack is more virtuous because he is good by character. He not only did the right thing but also thought and felt the right thing.

So how the heck does this apply to me?????
Also my cat is annoying me, he is sitting right in front of my keyboard. How am I supposed to concentrate. I truly have Simon's cat. ( He was also harassing me this morning.)

Bachelorette party and studies

So I just finished most of my reading and I wrote a draft for one of my papers. I have to work tomorrow but plan on writing the draft for my second paper and edit my first paper by Saturday. I am pretty proud of my accomplishments today.

I have no idea why I am posting this picture. I just find that George looks particularly not thrilled to have me kiss him. What is wrong with him????? Also my hair looks particularly bad.

 why does George look soo pissed? he should be happier to be with me. Humph!!!

So last night I saw Zeba. I asked her advice on what to wear for the bachelorette party. She did not like my blue dress, she thought it was too conservative. She told me I should get something like a nice top and some pants. But given the hot Florida weather, I doubt my jeans or my black pants would work. I do not own a nice pair of khaki's. I do own a pair of cargo's but that might be too casual. I also don't have money to go shopping with and don't really have the time either. So she recommended I wear the banana republic dress I had from before. Which is good with only one flaw. It is two layers, so it tends to be a tad warm.

I asked George's opinion and he prefers I wear the blue dress. He said I shouldn't wear the banana republic dress because I don't want to outdress the bride. (The dress is casual, I don't know how I could possibly out dress the bride or anyone for that matter with a casual dress like that. In fact I think the blue dress is more dressy, the banana dress is just shorter.) My assumption is that George think the dress is too short and wants me more covered up. Therefore I am ignoring George and listening to Zeba.

Designer madness (accessory and coats)

So I am still sick, so I feel like browsing some designer items I like. This does not mean I think they are worth the price. If money was not an issue, I would totally sport these things.

Key chains for purses and well keys.

I love this. They kinda look like m&ms. Louis Vuitton key chain. (Karine actually owns this.) I think it cost them close to 1000 bucks. I think maybe 800 or 900 dollars.

This runs about 40 bucks. (you can almost double these as bracelets)
or

 take an actual charm bracelet (can be any one as long as it has a spring clasp.) Just use it as a keychain or purse charm.

I am suddenly tired, so I am just going to put up a couple of jacket/coat picks.

 

Burberry Brit.I adore the color of this jacket and also love the checked lining on the inside. Its like a bag that has a different pattern inside the bag. I am not sure the cost but I think they range from 400-1500. yeah insane but when it comes to pricey items, a jacket is more understandable than anything else. People at least tend to wear the same jacket on a regular basis, so its not like a t shirt that you have to change all the time. Its sort of like a bra. (I am speaking on terms of rich people btw, I don't think average people can afford a jacket like this.)

 

Isaac Mizrahi live trench. This is awesome because it kinda gives you the classic trench look of the Burberry jacket. But I think this is about 90 bucks. Basically you can get the nice color jacket with the polka dot lining. (Although there is apparently a big difference in quality.)

Bracelet (Steel and Gold)

I love the two tone look of this bracelet. Plus I think it'll look great with gold or silver tone jewelry. The only thing is that I think it only looks good with stoneless jewelry (and my orange diamond ring) Otherwise it is to casual looking to pair well with diamonds. But the awesome thing about steel is that it doesn't tarnish and you can bang it around without worrying about it. Oh and its cheaper!

Heart rings

This ring I just love the design. Its big but simple at the same time. The focus is on the simple heart shaped stone. Plus its also cheaper since its not real gold or silver and the stone is cz. But its a great fashion piece.
